“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.” -Martha Graham
Why does one decide to create a website of her own? Why does one post thoughts in a blog for other people to read? It does seem rather self-serving, doesn’t it? My reason is to engage in the “action”, as Martha Graham calls it. Of course, I’d love for others to read what is here and be intrigued, ask questions, share their own ideas, be inspired, or be moved to take an action of their own. But the root of this endeavor is about taking an action – because at times, success is found in the doing.
If you spend much time here, I hope you will discover what is important to me – family, faith … and what I feel passionate about – education, asking questions, putting things in context, and spreading love, peace, and kindness (I know, I know, it’s so cliche, but it’s so important.) I see this is a place where we can learn, listen, share, connect, and be moved to live with purpose. Because as Martha Graham says, “There is only one of you in all time.” If I don’t say what I think I’m here to say, do what I think I’m here to do, who else will?
I am called to take action. I hope and pray that my actions will result in positive outcomes for you.

In my world “action is character”. We are defined by what we do. So taking action leads to building character. And like saying, “When this house is finished…” is like saying “When I know who I am…” So keep renovating and building and taking action. It’s what makes you exciting.
OK. I’m wanting to put you’re blog on my home page under 5 Star Blogs because I think my readers would benefit from your wisdom. Is that OK? The site is http://goodlifenoalcohol.wordpress.com
I look forward to hearing from you. Keep it up!
Wow – thanks! I was just on your blog .. and your other blog. It would be fine – I really appreciate your support. I’m not sure if it’s wisdom … I’ve just spent a while now trying to figure out life. It feels good to write about it and hope that someone else might benefit, too.
hey, this blog rules 🙂
I’m so happy that WordPress featured your post! I loved it – but I’ve REALLY loved “flipping” through your pages. Looks like we started our blogging journey about the same time (3/20/11 was my “launch date”). It’s lovely to “meet” you!
Good writing!
..interesting..!!!:)
Thank you! This is a great help for me.,who’s trying to find a purpose in life,.
Hi, just started using wordpress today and your blog was instrumental in my decision to “go for it” and I really liked your clean, crisp layout. Granted, my blog is work related but I love what I do and these days the media is so vague/general and many times inaccurate so I need to set the record straight and get the word out for what is true in my local market. Congrats on getting featured on WP! -agf
This is now the second quote by Martha Graham I am in love with; I may have to find a book about her. Thanks for the inspiration!
